Ultrasound and X-Ray
 

Radiographs (X-Rays) and diagnostic ultrasound compliment each other diagnostically. Radiographs show silhouettes of internal structures such as organs or bones much as you would look at a shadow puppet on a wall. They give us a good idea of the general shape and lay out of the object of interest.

Ultrasound lets us take tiny visual slices of the organs so that we can see if there are any abnormalities internally that could not be picked up on the radiograph. We can also do pregnancy checks with one or both modalities depending on what is more appropriate at the time. 

At Adobe we offer complete radiographic services including OFA and Penn Hip for hip certification.

The Animal Rehabilitation Center has Therapeutic ultrasound which uses sound waves to produce heat and relaxation for pain relief and healing.
